The rainiest May ever as measured at one station was in 1995 when 7 inches fell. In 1957, there was 6.88 inches of rain and 6.86 in 1978. Data was missing for this station from 2003-2017. This past month, the Longmont station received nearly two inches of rain on May 12 alone, according to NWS reporting. Precipitation was measured on 14 of the 31 days of the month, plus another three days with trace amounts, per CoCoRaHS.
